Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the body and places an emphasis on core strength. It helps improve general fitness, as well as overall well-being. It concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility.

Pilates also focuses on the mind-body connection as you need  to be constantly aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.

This class is suitable for beginners or improvers.

‘Sound Healing Meditation’

Known as a ‘sound bath’, this is a deeper form of meditation without any participation required. Lie down, relax and allow the vibrations and sounds of the instruments to wash over you to heal and uplift emotional burdens and disharmonies within.

Bring a mat to lie on, a blanket/duvet/sleeping bag and pillow/cushion.

Some of the benefits of Sound Healing Meditation are as follows: cleansing negative energy and emotions, relieving stress, deeper relaxation, aiding recovery after illness or trauma, improving sleep and increasing energy levels.

‘Children’s Yoga’

Run by Sarah from Yoga Bears Wirral, there is a weekly after school and also a monthly classes on a Saturday. In addition, there are other ‘special’ sessions, all of which are detailed on Sarah’s Facebook and Instagram (see below).

Yoga has been shown to benefit children in a myriad of ways –  physically, socially and emotionally. We are very excited to be able to offer these classes, which are run by a very experienced and knowledgeable teacher of children’s yoga.

‘Beginners’ Yoga’

This is a 5 week beginners’ course which will enable you explore yoga and its benefits. We will introduce you to the basic standing and seated poses with an emphasis on understanding how your body works, what limits you and how to progress safely. The aesthetics of the pose are not important, it’s how it feels to you. We will also introduce you to meditation and breathing practice.

Whether you are looking to ease general aches and pains, wanting to be more flexible, get fitter, find coping strategies for dealing with stress and anxiety or just want to try something new, then this course is just right for you.

FITNESS BUILDING

This is a fantastic way to build your fitness and get in shape for summer with the North West’s former light welterweight amateur boxing champion, Andy Gilbert.

Andy is a qualified personal trainer with a wealth of experience across a wide variety of sporting disciplines, ranging from boxing and running to specialist fat burning and toning exercises. This class will be a mixture of cardio and conditioning and guarantees to get you into shape – but whilst having fun at the same time. When exercise is enjoyable it doesn’t feel like exercise.

In addition to the class, personal training is also available every Friday from 1045am to 11.45am.

Conversational Spanish Classes
